CoX guide

The Chambers of Xeric uses a unique party finding system to help determine how strong the team is. This will affect the strength of the monsters and bosses, in addition to the requirements needed in the skilling rooms. Players can bring their own supplies in, but will need to utilise the chambers' resources in order to defeat the increasingly strong bosses.

This is my first guide, and based on own experiences so far, so don't be so harsh 🙂

Please dm if you find any error/mistakes so I can update the post.

Preparements before you start the raid - should read

In this minigame, you'll need all 3 types of attack, so i prefer to use nex-gear as they provide decent defence-stats + health bonus.

 

Checklist before starting:

☑️ Arrows

☑️ (Optional) Poison surge aura / serpentine helm.

Additional comment:

At 250$-perk you get access to ;;book command - As you do more damage to elm with arma-storm, it may be desirable to bring armarunes.

At Olm I do prefer using arma storm for DPS.

How to start the Raid:

Be in a friend chat

To start a raid, you must either be in your own FC to be the party leader, or join a friend's to join another team.

Vanguards:

Preferred attack style: Blood Barrage

Prayer: Soul split and Leech Magic

Difficulty: Easy

Vanguards - To harm the Vanguards, damage must be spread equally to all three Vanguards. If just one of the Vanguard is heavily damaged while the others have much higher health (a difference of 40% in groups of four or less, and 33.3% in groups of five or more), the Vanguards will immediately shuffle and restore their health to full. As a warning indicator, a swirling mass of energy will appear around the Vanguards, which brightens in colour the closer they are to a forced heal. 

To pass this you need to collect all vanguards, and blood barrage them all. See picture number 2:

Vasa Nistirio

Spoiler

Vasa Nistirio is initially seen as a pile of rocks. Upon approaching the pile, he will animate himself and start the fight. He will also raise a purple flame at the entrance, which will damage players who pass through it. The fight begins with his special attack.

Vasa has a special attack that he can use when he is at the centre, where he will teleport everyone in the room. Half of the team will be teleported to the edges, while the remaining half will be teleported next to him (if soloing, you will always be teleported to him). Those next to him will be stunned and have their prayers disabled. Those teleported to the edges should run to the centre and activate Protect from Magic.

Range him from entrance of the room, to be "safe" from his special attacks.

Preferred attack: Range

Preferred prayer: Leech range + Soul Split/protect magic

Difficulty: Easy when you range from entrance, Medium+ otherwise

Guardians-statues

YOU WILL NEED A PICKAXE IN ORDER TO DEFEATE THEESE GUARDIANS

Prayer: Soul Split + Turmoil

Difficulty: Easy

Tightrope (deathly mages and rangers)

Preferred attack: Blood marrage / Blood Blitz / range

Prayer: Soul Split and Leech Magic / range.

Difficulty: Medium+

Theese NPCes deals alot of damage. Unless you can tank everyone, I would recommned killing one and one.

Muttadiles:

Muttadiles are bosses who deals alot of damage (up tp 40), and you should pay attantion when getting in this room. After you kill the small one, a bigger one will spawn.

Preferred attack style: Range

Preferred prayer: Soul split + Leech Ranged

Difficulty: Medium+

Lizardman shaman

Preferred attack: Range

Preferred prayer: Leech range + Soulsplit

Difficulty: Medium-

The shamans inside the Chambers of Xeric share the same attack set. Their special attack will make the whole screen shake and spawn 3 small purple lizards who will follow you. Run around the room when they spawn so they dont explode on you and deal extra damage on you.  (See picture 2)

Tekton (enraged)

Spoiler

Tekton is a boss who hits very hard.

Attack style: melee

Prayers: Soul Split + Turmoil

Difficulty: Medium+

TIP: Attack him, and run back, attack and run back. If you do this correctly, he wont be able to attack or deal damage to you. Se picture number 2:

Skeletal mystic:

TIP: Gather all 3 skeletal mystics in one tile and barrage them. See picture number 2:

Ice Demon

Vespula

Prayer: Soul Split + Leech Range

Difficulty: Easy

Vespula can poison players starting at 20 damage, so a serpentine helmet or another form of poison protection is highly recommended

Jewelled Crab - puzzle

This room is the most time consuming room, and might feel impossible to solo it at first try, but once you get used to it - its not so bad. 

Jewelled Crabs are found in the crab puzzle room within the Chambers of Xeric. These crabs cannot be killed by conventional combat, however the crystals which are on the crabs can be attacked in order to change their colour. Attacking with melee (or smashing it with a hammer) will cause a crab to change Red, magic for Blue, and ranged for Green.

I find this Table handy when doing the room:

When the wall stop shooting orbs, it means the room is done, and might occur randomly even though you havent't switched all crystals to white.

Corrupted Scavenger - puzzle

Target: Open chests to find Cavern grubs. For solo you need 10+ grubs to later deposit them in the Trough. Remeber to get your items back from the storage.

Tip: Deposit all your items in the tiny storage unit (the small wood-head)

Great Olm - Final boss

The Great Olm (referred to as the Guardian in the Deep by Xeric's followers) is the final boss in the Chambers of Xeric raid. A large, blind, white salamander, it is one of Xeric's greatest possessions. Olm on Ely usually has 4 phases, and you'll need all 3 attack types in order to defeat Olm. 

Olm deal great amount of damange, so you should always pay attention to your health.

P1: Right claw melee, Left claw magic - special attack from this phase is poison attacks so you get poisoned 

P2: Right claw melee, Left claw magic - special attack is draining energy + spawning fires who deals damage fast

P3: Right claw melee, Left claw magic.

P4: Right claw melee, Left claw magic, Head range.  

 

Preferred attack: Alle types

Preferred prayer: Leech Mage, Melee and Range + soul split

Difficulty: Hard

P4 - after you have defeated claws 4 times, you have to defeat the head with range-attack:

After defeated the head, you have completed the raid!
