change to Exclusive items examine value (kept on death)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, so i just wanted to bring up the fact that there are alot of items (not nearly as valuable as some of the exclusive items used in cb) that protect over things like reaper, nomadic and other exclusive cb sets. These set items normally cost 3b or so, and an extra 1b if it is infused with a nex piece. say you get a piece for 2b and infuse it thats just around 3b but its examine value is only 200m, meaning amulet of the damned (200m examine value) or cerb boots (250m examine value) protect over our 3-4b items.
Now just lastnight i was fighting harb and after thinking i got the hand of it, i changed my setup with reaper, fury and b ring to reaper, amulet of damed and treas. ring, thinking if i died those two items are what i would have lost. Now i know i should have double checked and it was careless of me but im not appealing for my stuff back here, i just would like to see these exclusive items hold a bit more worth to them because take it from me they are not easy to obtain and very costly and a simple mistake in an instance can take it right off you, i know there is a risk but i assumed the risk wasnt the exclusive items.  The treas ring has a 100m examine value and last night saved on death over my reaper body and legs. tz-tol (i) has 200m examine value. If i assumed the reaper was 200m a piece it seems the amulet of damned also at 200m value saved over the reaper but then again the treas ring at 100m value saved over them too.
Let us know what you think.
ps i never examined the value of reaper top and bottom infused but tz-tok or w/e infused is 200m value for top and legs

Yeah this is why i always check my items on death tab to make sure i'm good just incase, But yeah i agree with that or make them  untradeable once infused and create a "split" option to make the cosmetic part of it tradeable again

I don't think making them untradeable is the correct solution as usually they need to be infused with end-game gear such as Nex Sets & Primals - essentially this would make them a free reclaimable on death meaning no risk whatsoever. Very bad idea.

As for the examine values of exclusive items, we have to be very careful with this.

A high examine value automatically sets a minimum price for the exclusive before the community has decided on a price. There is no way of knowing how many will be brought into game, so we could end up with a price that doesn't quite fit.

As for PvMing with these items, that's the risk that you take to begin with. They're rare and exclusive, deciding to go into an instanced boss fight with them should be the responsibility of the player.

One thing that I can agree with however is that when the exclusive item is imbued, it gains the examine value of the item that imbued it.
For example: Reaper would gain the examine value of Torva if it has been imbued. Without the imbue, the examine value would remain as it was.

yes and infused reaper should have saved over a treas ring valued at 100m... this is why they need to be looked in because they dont sit where they should on the table of value compared to alot of (shitty) items.
