Dominion Tower

Hi all,

Quick suggestion to remove Nomad and Kalphite Queen from Dominion Tower as nobody fights these, it's an automatic suicide for everyone.

It's still going to take 3 hours to finish 100 floors, it's still a random chance on getting specific gloves afterwards.

Still a chance that players will have to do multiple dom tower runs to complete the glove set.

 

If you can think of a logical drawback, please feel free to post below. 
I personally can't see a drawback to their removal as the cutscenes are still in place and it's still a fixed amount of time spent in the tower.

I think dominion tower needs a rework, not sure how much work that is but I can imagine it being a big project.

It would be great if there were more monsters in the minigame and not just the same 8 npcs again and again.

I'd support nomad being removed but then I think death = restart should be a thing. And to make everything a lot less tedious, the cutscenes should be disabled.

There's a lot to be discussed on that topic, but I'd love to see it happening.

Agreed with more variation with monsters. Facing the dag kings in there for example would be quite entertaining. 

Death = restart is okay and reasonable to be a thing since that's how it works in RS but would definitely get behind Nomad being removed if that's the case. 
Nothing would be more disheartening than getting through 90 floors and then being faced with nomad - limited on supplies left.

A lot of this revolves around the gloves being BIS for the respective styles - While Dominion Tower should be a challenge, it should be quite achievable for the average player.

If dominion tower was to made easier (timewise, aka faster),  I feel like daddy @Kari is completely right in, death = reset. Whether that is removing Kalphite Queen and Nomad (pain in the balls bosses) or the cutscenes, as to keep some balance to it, and not just completely ezscape. 
In general in favour of a dominion tower rework, as it's currently quite shit content that you just go through for gloves and then it can fuck off right after. Though a change probably won't affect that mentality,  but it might make it less painful, possibly even slightly enjoyable.

Dom tower gives bis gloves as well as "decent" weapons but requires an annoying grind not a challenging one. how quickly you get through it is mostly RNG, not skill. I would love to see a myriad of different bosses included in the climb just not the obviously ridiculous ones. I think KQ isn't too difficult and should probably not be removed from the rotation but "possibly" reduced in frequency. If more bosses are added this would be the case anyway.

The only way i can see this not being the case is if there were better rewards for the minigame other than the gloves and weapons.

-a certain number of crystal keys per 10 floors or something like that.

-making the ability to convert all the items received from the chest into something worthy of doing so.

-floors completed after 100 give better rewards (or possibly half the number of floors needed for another unique roll - 125 for additional weapon and 150 for gloves).

lots of different ways to make this minigame more worth it during and even after you've achieved the unique you want.

Completely agree here, like fight caves only being difficult if you don't understand Jad's attacks.

i agree, this means the player will have to take the fights more seriously while not having to worry about the next boss being a dead stop (for most players).

as we are all aware the dom tower is a bit neglected , tedious and all round a terrible experience . i had a few ideas today while i was  going through it again.

1.what if we remove the floor system all together and have the bosses spawn in the same area one at a time and it works off kills instead of floors (yes i understand the premise of the dom tower buts its an rsps so calm down) 

2.there is a points system for rewards so 200 kills you get to roll for one pair of gloves and 100 kills you get to roll for one weapon (kills are doubled on saturdays) the reason for 200 kills for gloves is because of the incresed speed of progression within the tower 

3.not only remove kq and nomad but most of the others too add id like general graardor ,krill,zilly,kree (force gear switches) keep kbd keep jad keep elvarg add chaos ele 

4.add more rewards to keep the place alive like skilling supplys i.e 100 rune bars for 30 kills (just a random figure obv)  custom capes for 1k kills 10k kills and 100k kills/points with stats similar to tok-bone and kiln capes gives people a long term thing to work towards keeping players intrested 

 

(i am well aware that this is alot like nitemare zone in many ways but mixing up the bosses takes away the afk aspect and makes it somewhat enjoyable)

Definitely not chaos ele. But I think other bosses would be neat. I don’t think we need to get rid of the floors, just remove the cut scenes- keeps it feeling like dom tower. More skilling rewards would be cool, but I don’t know if it’s needed? People will do the tower anyway.
