You cannot currently do this and I think it would be really cool. Perhaps remove the ability to detach the whip vine? That would be a good item sink since the colored whips are currently untradeable. Why (explain what this will benefit, and how): Who doesn't want a really good weapon that's got a cool color to it? Benefits everyone who uses colored whips by giving them better stats.
