Part I
Getting Started

Spoiler

When creating an account, you will go through the typical tutorial which will show you the basics.
You will then be presented with the option to choose what type of an account you'd like to have.

spacer.png

Following choosing what type of an account you'd like you will be presented with your choice of XP rate.
Easy Mode (x250), Default (x50) & Legend (x10)

spacer.png

Each game mode has an affect on your in-game drop rate.
Easy mode will affect your drop rate the most, although not terrible.
Default gives you the best bang for your buck in terms of drops & XP rate.
Legend is for those who like to grind & get rewarded with the 5% drop rate boost.

NOTE: A forum account is required when voting & donating.
When your forum account registration is complete, you can now vote.
For every site you vote on you will receive 1 Vote Ticket (these will be automatically added to your bank after every successful vote).
If after successfully voting on all sites, you will have 9 Vote Tickets awaiting you in your bank in-game.
You can sell these to other players for spacer.png Gold, spend them in the Vote ::shops, or right-click & claim them for 50% Bonus XP!
Every 1 ticket will grant 10 minutes of a 50% XP Boost, for a total of 1 ½ hours of Bonus XP.

You are free to make as many accounts as you'd like & we allow multi-logging.
Another huge benefit we offer is the ability to share your Donor Status & tier benefits across every one of your alternate accounts.
If you decide to create an Easy Mode economy account & an spacer.png Ultimate Ironman, your forum account will automatically link to both.
(If this does not happen, verify you are logged in on the forums & visit the Store or Vote page to assure account linking).
Now your Donor Status & tier benefits will be applied to both accounts! To view Donation Benefits click here.

Following your account creation, the most common & effective way to make money is spacer.png Thieving.
You can find three stalls behind the bank at home right next to where you begin.

spacer.png

Bakers Stall (1st stall requiring level 1 Thieving) will give you 10,000 GP per click.
Silk Stall (2nd stall requiring level 45 Thieving) will give you 15,000 GP per click.
Gem Stall (3rd stall requiring 75 Thieving) will give you 25,000 GP per click.

If you chose Default (x50 XP rate) as your game mode
spacer.png Thieving from 1-99 will grant you: 40-45M GP in total.

That amount of spacer.png Gold is great starting money to get decent gear & weapons to begin spacer.png Slayer.
spacer.png Slayer will become the next best method of making money - collecting Crystal Keys and other drops.
The NPC's below can be found directly across from the Home Bank & have the best starter gear & weapons.

spacer.png

In here you will find the best starting gear and weapons up too Rune, Dragon, Proselyte & more.
Click below to view screenshots to get a closer look at the available items in these two shops.

Another fast & effective way to get starting gear is from the spacer.png Grand Exchange.
The G/E NPC can be found inside the home bank, next to the bank tellers.
You can auto-buy all gear up to Rune & even some Dragon armor such as Legs & Boots.
The spacer.png Grand Exchange is also a fast way to sell unwanted loots for extra spacer.png GP, as it will auto-sell most items under 250K in value & at -5% the listed price. So this is a great place (as well as the spacer.png General Store across from the Bank) to sell those loots you received from the spacer.png Thieving Stalls.

spacer.png

If you'd like to get familiar fast with the current price of items in-game, you can visit our spacer.png Grand Exchange Wiki page.
This page will show you charts & graphs of current & past prices of items that have been sold as well as current offers.

To see what else the Wiki offers (Drop tables, Clue scroll tips, NPC definitions & more) click here or visit the navigation bar above.

Part II
Getting Familiar

Spoiler

Now that you've got some spacer.png Gold from spacer.png Thieving & purchased your starting gear, it's time to begin Combat training.
The most effective method of doing this is visiting the spacer.png Slayer Master first - he will give you a Rock Crabs task.

You will find the spacer.png Slayer Master right outside the home Bank to the left, as show below.

spacer.png

There are multiple means & methods of teleporting around Ely. The first (but limited) way to begin is using the Teleport tab.
This can be found on the bottom right-hand side of your tabs, that looks strikingly similar to a "T" - for teleports, maybe?

spacer.png

From here you get your most basic selection of Teleports.
Training, Skilling, Bossing, Slayer & Minigame teleports.

Click on "Training Teleports" and/or click "Enter Location" & type "rock crabs" to get to our desired location for our task.
A quick tip to teleport Home fast is simply pressing the "Home" key on your keyboard!

If you'd like to know the more advanced & convenient way of moving around Ely, click below to see a quick guide.

Spoiler

To begin, all you need to know is the Tilde key, shown here -> `
That key is typically to the left of the number 1 on most keyboards.

We have opened what is known as the Developer's Console to all players.
This provides a much more cleaner, efficient & easy way to use commands.
Once you have pressed the Tilde key, you will be presented with this screen:

spacer.png

This screen can be toggled on & off via that aforementioned Tilde key (`).
Within this screen you will be able to see all the commands available to you.

To do so, just simply type (without quotations) "commands" or "cmds" and press Enter.
This will display a list of all available commands such as: Teles, vote, task & more.

spacer.png

If you then type "teles" into the console and press Enter you will see this:

spacer.png

Our teleport command list is an extensive one & in alphabetical order.
You can get anywhere in Ely via these 50+ teleport command options.

Upon your first login to Ely you may have noticed the NPC & Player names
Floating above them. This is only there to guide you to get started.

This can be toggled on & off along with many other customization options.
To do so, just type "client" into the console & press enter to view these.

spacer.png

Here you will see (again) tons more command options you can try.
The description of each command (what they do) is on the right side.
To turn off these player names above heads of characters
Just simply type "playernames" into the console and press Enter.
Same goes with NPC's just type "npcnames" in console & press Enter!

During your tasks it is in your best interest to collect your drops, most notable Crystal Keys.
These can be used to open the Crystal Chest at home for bonus loots & skilling items.

The Crystal Chest can be found right outside the home bank to the right.

spacer.png

The Crystal Chest can be a great source of starter spacer.png Gold for new players.
Below is a screenshot of the types of loot you can expect to find in the chest.

A lot of these items such as the God Arrows, Crystal Shield & more can be sold in the spacer.png Grand Exchange.
(Remember: it will auto-sell most items under 250K in value & at -5% the listed price.)
The other items will be good to use for skilling later down the road. You can also buy most supplies in the spacer.png Grand Exchange.

spacer.png

One thing you may have noticed while training your account was a progress percentage bar at the top left.
This is a live tracking of your Achievements

spacer.png

This is tracking one of your Achievements - most likely your Melee damage Achievement.
This can be found in the "Task System" tab, which is to the right of your Combat Styles tab.

spacer.png

As you progress in Ely, you will complete Achievements along the way from which you can claim rewards.

If you would like to hide this progress bar, just click "Show achievement progress" to toggle off.
Click on the "Open List" button in the Task System tab to see a list of all the Achievements.

spacer.png

From here you can see what you have left to do, what you have already done & claim your rewards.

Now that we have completed our first spacer.png Slayer task of Rock Crabs, let's return to the spacer.png Slayer Master.
When you right-click & hit Trade on the spacer.png Slayer Master you will be presented with two shop options.

The spacer.png Slayer Shop will feature specific equipment that is required for some tasks as you move up the ranks.
The
spacer.png Slayer Rewards shop will feature bonus items you can purchase with points; the most beneficial item being the Cannon.

When you right-click & hit Rewards on the spacer.png Slayer Master you will be presented with your typical panel.
For example you can navigate to the Assignment tab to remove or block a specific task you may not prefer.

spacer.png

You may now continue your grind by grabbing another task and training your Combat levels aside spacer.png Slayer.

Do you know all this and want to learn more specifics about Ely that are unique?
